Why do guys do this? What is the point?

Why do guys always pick on the pretty girls? Like, the girl can be the prettiest girl in the school and a guy can find a slight flaw and make fun of her. Why do they do that? Its not funny. They tell the girl that they think she is pretty and find something wrong with them and then pick on them about it. What is up with that? Thank you for answering :)
